October 27, 2011 Bishop State Community College captured gold and bronze Medallion awards in this yearʼs National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District 2 Medallion Awards competition. The college received a Gold (first place) Award in the Television Advertising/PSA Series category and a Bronze (third place) Award in the Folder Cover category. Palm Beach State College also received a Gold Medallion Award in the same Television Advertising/PSA Series category Bishop State Public Relations Director Herb Jordan accepted the awards on behalf of the college during a recent awards ceremony in Atlanta, Ga. Bishop Stateʼs television commercials titled “Success” were created by J. Thomas Inc. of Fairhope for Bishop State and were aired on a number of local TV and cable stations this year. The folder cover was designed by PM Group of Mobile and is issued to new students during the collegeʼs new student orientation. The NCMPR District 2 Medallion Awards competition recognizes excellence in communications exclusively among two-year colleges in 11 states, The Bahamas and Bermuda. The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (ncmpr.org) is the only organization of its kind that represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges.
