What is Marine Electrical?

Marine electricians use various tools and equipment to install an repair fixtures, run wires, and restore/connect power to every facet of a ship.

Other duties include blueprint reading, proper usage of testing equipment, troubleshooting equipment, and following specifications. This program is offered at no cost to students.

The ten-week training program is designed to provide entry-level employment with local shipbuilders.

  • Cable, Wire Way
  • Ship Orientation
  • Hands-On Training
  • Hands-On Projects
  • Practical Application

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18
  • TABE Test required upon enrollment
  • Must be willing and able to pass a drug test
