Graduates of this program may apply for the Career Mobility (LPN to RN) program to complete the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in nursing after having passed the NCLEX-PN and gained work experience in the field.
Program length is three semesters. Graduates of the program may be eligible to write the National Council Licensure Examination, upon approval by a state board.
Accepted students will attend Bishop State Community College two evenings per week followed by course work and/or clinical schedules on Saturdays and Sundays.
Class Hours
The classes will be offered two evenings per week beginning at 5:30p and will last until 9 or 10p - depending on the class. On Saturday, students can plan to arrive at 8 a.m. and stay until 2 or 3 p.m. On Sundays, students will attend a rotation at a clinical facility. The exact times will depend on the course as each course will have different hours. Some portions of the class will also be taught online.

The required number of hours per week varies with each nursing course. The program is offered during the evenings and weekends with set meeting times. Courses are not scheduled around rotating shifts.
A cumulative GPA of 2.0 must be maintained while in the nursing program.
