Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) is an advanced manufacturing program that provides the technical, professional, and hands-on skills needed for Process Operations Technology. FAME students gain paid work experience while earning an associate degree.

What FAME Offers

The uniqueness of FAME allows it to meet the employment needs and challenges in advanced manufacturing. This need is satisfied by providing paid work experience to its participants. The FAME participants are groomed to meet these needs through a twice per week class schedule of 16 or more hours. The program curriculum furnishes cutting-edge related instruction on the newest technological equipment available. In addition to the class time, participants work at least 24 hours a week in a variety of careers.

Program Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Grade Point Average of 2.5
  • ACT / SAT Score in Math and English of 17 or higher
  • Accuplacer Placement Test required as an alternative for ACT / SAT
  • High School Transcript
  • College Transcript, if applicable
  • Background Check (May be required by the companies)
  • Drug Screen (May be required by the companies)
  • Submit a Written Essay about your short-term goal and how FAME can help you accomplish it.

Class Offerings

The inaugural cohort of FAME students will begin in the fall of 2022. To be one of the first graduates of FAME on the Coast, request an official transcript, complete a FAFSA and write an essay. Application submissions begin January - March 2022.
