Hi Wildcats!

We hope you got to enjoy your Spring Break! It was probably a little different than you were planning, but hopefully, you enjoyed the time at home and were able to get some things done.

I want to remind everyone that due to the continuous spread of COVID-19, the college remains closed right now and your classes will continue in its online format for the rest of the spring semester. Be sure to stay in contact with your instructor for information pertaining to your specific classes. They are also continuing to work remotely so the best method of contact is via email.

Summer registration for returning students will begin on Monday, April 13, 2020. Registration will take place online. You will be receiving additional information on how to do this next week.

Summer registration for new students will begin on April 20, 2020. This, too, will take place online and we will distribute instructions on how to register soon.

The 2020 Spring Commencement Ceremony has been postponed and is now tentatively rescheduled to take place on Friday, August 14, 2020, at 6 p.m. at the Mobile Convention Center. It will take place at this time as long as health officials deem it safe to do so. The College will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide updates as things change.

Be on the lookout for emails concerning OneACCS. Effective Fall 2020, Bishop State and all Alabama community colleges will be switching from Banner to OneACCS for all of your student needs. Please see the email I sent earlier this week about this. It is also attached below. You will be getting a new student ID number that begins with the letter "A". You will begin using this number when you start registering for Fall 2020 in July.

Hopefully, this email provides a few answers to some of the questions you may have. If you have questions about registration, advising, admissions, financial aid, etc., please check out the list of email contacts posted on our website. For all updated information concerning COVID-19, visit the Coronavirus section of our website.
One more thing, we want you to know we are here for you during this unusual time and we want all of our students to succeed. Know that your instructors and the staff and administration here at Bishop State are doing everything they can to make this semester work under the circumstances. But they can say it better than I can. Check out this video they made just for you!
