Ingalls Shipbuilding and Bishop State Community College are partnering to offer a Shipfitter’s training program. The program will take place on Bishop State’s Carver Campus Monday–Thursday from 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
The eight-week pre-apprenticeship course will provide students with the entry-level skills needed for possible enrollment into Ingalls apprenticeship program. The pre-apprentices will be introduced to the various tools and equipment needed for fabrication, assembly, and the erection of metal. The course offers a wealth of hands-on training for real-world preparedness.
Applications for this program will be accepted from January 11-22, 2021. Class begins on February 1, 2021.
