Bishop State Community College's lone female golfer, Rev Lizbeth Alcantara, took first place in a golf tournament hosted by Northeast Alabama Community College in Scottsboro. Alcantara registered as an individual player on February 26 & 27, 2018 and was up against a lot of competition – nine other teams and three other individuals. In total there were 48 players registered. The steep competition didn’t deter Alcantara. She finished in first place with a two day score total of 150. In Monday's round of 18 holes, Alcantara had a total score of +8 over par 72 (80). She was tied for first place at 80. In the final round of 18 holes on Tuesday, Alcantara had a total score of -2 under par 72 (70). Besides finishing in first place, Alcantara also was awarded the medalist honors with the lowest rounds of the tournaments. Congratulations, Alcantara!
