Nobody does parades like the home of Mardi Gras and Bishop State Community College is excited to present the 2019 Gulf Coast Challenge Parade!! It’s going to be even bigger and better!

This year’s parade takes place on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at 11 a.m. It will be led by the Bishop State royal court and will feature the bands of Alabama A&M University, Central State University, and Talladega College! There will also be several local and high school bands as well as college and community leaders, floats, throws and so much more. The prime spot to watch the parade will be in front of Bishop State where bands are sure to put on a show. Don’t miss it! The parade begins at 11 a.m. and will start on Warren Street. It will then turn left onto Dr. Martin Luther King Avenue before making a left turn onto Broad Street. The parade will continue on Broad Street until making a left turn on Government Street followed by a left turn onto Washington Avenue. The parade will end at Congress Street and Warren Street. The Alabama A&M Bulldogs face off against the Central State Marauders during the 2019 Gulf Coast Challenge at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. Be sure to catch the historic halftime show as not one… not two… but all THREE university bands will perform for the Gulf Coast Challenge Battle of the Bands Halftime Showdown! For the first time in history, three bands will perform during halftime! Who will be the winner?!?
