What is the ATI TEAS?

The ATI TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is designed to specifically assess a student’s preparedness to enter the health science field. Most likely, you’ve been asked to take the TEAS as part of your basic admissions requirements for your nursing or allied health program. That’s because studies show a consistent link between a student’s performance on the TEAS and future academic success.

The ATI TEAS exam consists of 170 questions, 20 of which are unscored pretest items. Questions are designed to test the basic academic skills you will need to perform in class in the areas of:

  • Reading
  • Math
  • Science
  • English
  • Language Usage

How to register for TEAS In Person:

Thank you for signing up to take the TEAS. Because we have a limited number of spots available for each testing date, we only reserve spots for the students who have created an account, registered, and paid for the TEAS. Therefore, your test date is not finalized until you have completed the entire process.

The TEAS fee is $70. For students who are not presently enrolled at Bishop State, payment must be at the Bursar's/Cashier's Office, which is located on the 1st floor of the Delchamps building located on the Bishop State Main Campus. The office is open on Monday-Thursday from 8am-5pm and on Friday from 8am-2pm. Cash, debit cards, credit cards, and money orders are accepted.

Continue below to create an account with ATI, register, and pay for the TEAS.

Let’s get started!

Step 1: Create an account with ATI Testing:

a. Go to atitesting.com

b. Select "I am preparing for or taking the TEAS"

c. Select "Create account" tab next to the site log-in button

d. Create an account (username and password)

Bring your account information (username and password) with you on your test date.

Step 2: Select and pay for the TEAS:

Select which is appropriate from the following:

a. Yes, I am currently enrolled at Bishop State

For students who are presently enrolled at Bishop State, the payment process is done online through your OneACCS account.

b. No, I am not currently enrolled at Bishop State

For those students who are not Bishop State students, your payment and date selection process needs to be done manually. This means your test date CAN NOT BE FINALIZED UNTIL YOU HAVE MADE PAYMENT AND MR. MULLEN HAS RECEIVED YOUR RECEIPT. If the date you selected is still open when Mr. Mullen receives your receipt, then you will get that test date. If it is not available, then Mr. Mullen will contact you to select an alternative date. Therefore, have a second choice in mind.

Payment must be made in person at the Bursar’s/Cashier’s Office, which is located on the 1st floor of the Delchamps building on the Bishop State Main campus. The office is open Monday-Thursday from 8am-5pm and on Friday from 8am-2pm. Cash, debit cards, credit cards, and money orders are accepted.

Once you have made your payment for the TEAS, you can email a copy of your TEAS receipt to tmullen@bishop.edu or you can hand deliver a copy of your receipt to Mr. Mullen personally. Mr. Mullen’s office is on the second floor of the Delchamps building, room 202.

If you have any questions about payments, you can contact the Bursar’s/Cashier’s Office at 251-405-7025. If you have any questions pertaining to the TEAS or payment process, you can contact Mr. Mullen at (251) 405-7055 or at tmullen@bishop.edu.
