What is All Hands on Deck?
All Hands on Deck is an 8-week introductory maritime training program designed to introduce students to rewarding careers in maritime manufacturing. Offered in partnership with SWAPTE and Workforce Alabama, the program provides participants with hands-on training, industry exposure, and pathways to high-demand careers in the maritime sector.
Students gain practical experience in key skill areas, including machine tool operations, pipefitting, non-destructive testing (NDT), and welding. Through classroom instruction and hands-on learning, participants develop foundational technical skills while gaining insight into maritime industry standards, workplace safety, and career opportunities.
The program is designed to help individuals build confidence, develop workforce-ready skills, and prepare for future employment and training opportunities within Alabama's growing maritime industry.
Training includes:
- Machine Tool
- Pipefitting
- Non destructive testing
- Welding
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18
- TABE TEST required upon enrollment
- Must be willing to pass a drug test.
