MOBILE, Ala., August 19, 2025 - Bishop State Community College students and staff joined first responders and multiple agencies in a triennial full-scale emergency plan exercise at Mobile Regional Airport (MOB). The drill, which is a requirement by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), simulated an in-flight emergency to test the preparedness and coordination of emergency crews.

Approximately 40 volunteers from Bishop State’s Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Student Association, Baseball, Softball, and Wildcats Ambassadors played a crucial role in the exercise, acting as patient and victim actors. Their participation allowed emergency crews to train for triage, treatment, and transport in a controlled, realistic environment. The exercise, which began at 9 a.m., successfully brought together hospitals, first responders, and various agencies, demonstrating a collaborative effort to ensure the safety and security of the community.
