The start of the 2021 spring semester is just hours away. Are you ready? We are ready for you! We are excited to welcome students back on campus and we are making sure we do so carefully.

To keep all of our students, faculty, and staff safe, there are a few requirements for any one who comes on our campus.

  1. All students, faculty, and staff will be required to wear masks that cover his or her nostrils and mouth at all times. This is subject to any changes in guidance from medical professionals and the CDC. The face coverings are required to be worn in classrooms, labs, communal office spaces, and at gatherings where social distancing is difficult to maintain. (ALA CODE Section 11-45-1)
  2. Social distancing will be prescribed for all programs to take reasonable steps to maintain six feet of separation between individuals (where applicable and practicable).
  3. All faculty, students, and staff must have their temperature checked upon entry of buildings on campus. Individuals who have a normal temperature reading will be given a wristband which must be worn at all times.

Bishop State will continue to follow all CDC and state-issued guidelines as well as the recommendations issued by the Alabama Community College. The college is also taking several safety precautions to keep everyone safe on campus.

  1. All classrooms have a supply box with cleaning supplies so students and faculty can wipe down chairs and other commonly touched surfaces
  2. All classrooms have also been equipped with plexiglass in the front of the classroom. Appropriate barriers – including plexiglass and other similar materials – have also been installed in high-volume areas.
  3. Air filters have been changed every 30 days since the pandemic started.
  4. Sanitation and cleaning has been enhanced in buildings throughout the campus and adequate hand sanitizing products have been made available in all common spaces (lobbies, academic learning centers, and classrooms).
  5. Workplaces, meeting rooms, and laboratories (including computer labs) have modified occupancy.

We look forward to having students on campus and are committed to keeping everyone safe and healthy! Let's go Wildcats!
