This effort was part of a larger statewide initiative led by Alabama People Against A Littered State, commonly known as Alabama PALS. The organization is committed to enhancing the quality of life across the state by addressing litter through education, prevention, and cleanup programs. Their work spans Alabama’s streets, waterways, campuses, and coastlines—encouraging communities to take pride in their surroundings.
Bishop State’s participation in this initiative reflects the college’s broader mission not only to educate students academically but also to instill the values of civic responsibility and service. Events like the “Don’t Drop It On Alabama” cleanup provide meaningful opportunities for students to engage beyond the classroom and contribute to the well-being of their environment.
Through collaborative efforts like this, Bishop State continues to set an example of leadership and service. The success of this year’s cleanup reinforces the importance of collective action and highlights the impact that even a small group can have when working together toward a cleaner, greener Alabama.
