COVID-19 Update

Bishop State has shifted to remote learning for the remainder of the spring semester due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19. Counseling Services is responding to these changes by updating our services. We understand this may be a stressful time for you. Counselors are still working to serve you from a distance. We
are offering services via the following methods:

Email

Use your campus email when emailing for counseling assistance. This is required due to federal regulations that protect your privacy.

Phone

A counselor will call you at your appointment time using the phone number we have on file. If your questions involve accessing your student record, to comply with FERPA Privacy Regulations, the counselor will ask a series of questions to verify your identity.

Zoom Virtual Appointment

The counselor will send a Zoom session link to your campus email which will become active approximately 10 minutes before your scheduled 30-minute session. To comply with FERPA Privacy Regulations, have your photo identification ready so the counselor can verify your identity before revealing confidential student record information. ZOOM appointments are not available during peak registration days or as same-day sessions.

Zoom account is not required; however, you will need a computer with a webcam, a tablet with a camera, or a smartphone with a camera. Review Zoom's technical requirements before your session.
