Public Relations Policies

The Office of Public Relations functions primarily in the promotion of rapport and goodwill between and among the College's administrators, faculty, staff, students, advisory committees, alumni, industry and the community at large through the distribution of information. The goals of the office are synonymous with the goals of the College. The primary functions of this office are publicity, press agentry, institutional advertising and marketing, publications and photography. All news information and other contacts with members of the mass media should be made through the Office of Public Relations. At the same time, all persons employed by the College are responsible for public relations, working cooperatively through the public relations department. Standard forms are available online or in the Office of Public Relations for use by faculty and staff members to report the news from divisions, departments, programs or personal news.

Press Releases

In an effort to present the news in a professional format, the Public Relations Office has developed a form for reporting. The form is not mandatory, but it is requested that it be used to release news about the College to the public. The Public Relations Office will determine the media sources for the releases: mass media (radio, television, newspapers, website, social media). As part of the same process, photographic needs will be determined with the assistance of the person reporting.
